Only built for a few short years before the release of the all-new (and divisive) water-cooled 996, the air-cooled 993 has become one of the most collectible iterations of the 911. In comparison to its predecessor, the 964, the 993 introduced new styling along with increased power from its 3.6L Flat-6. Perhaps more importantly, Porsche introduced a new multi-link rear suspension for improved handling in comfort. A roomier interior and, for 1996, the introduction of VarioRam for extra horsepower, ensured the 993 exceeded the expectations of the company’s most dedicated clients. Also for 1996 came the release of the 993 Targa. Unlike previous models which featured a removable roof panel, Porsche chose a more elegant solution: a power ‘panoramic’ glass sunroof that retracted behind the rear window. Unique rear quarter-window styling, the cabriolet’s ‘handlebar’ CHMSL brake light, and exclusive two-piece wheels make it easy to differentiate a Targa from standard coupes. While some enthusiasts mourned the loss of the fully removable panel and distinctive ‘roll hoop’ styling, this solution is far more convenient in day-to-day use. With only 4,583 reportedly produced worldwide before the release of the 996, 993 Targas are a rare entry into one of Porsche’s most well-regarded vehicles. The impressive 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa featured here is finished in its factory correct combination of Black over a Cashmere leather interior. This remarkable 993-generation Targa represents an incredible opportunity to acquire one of the most limited-production air-cooled Porsches at an investment price. I personally believe the investment potential of this exquisite 911 will grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who appreciates this car's rarity and exceptional condition!
