2000 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet For Sale This 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet is a 996-generation car finished in Slate Gray Metallic over black, showing approximately 52,000 miles. The VIN and factory option label confirm a rear-wheel-drive Carrera with the M96/04 3.4-liter flat-six and the five-speed Tiptronic S transmission. It has been modified in the areas 996 owners tend to address, and the two mechanical items that define this generation's reputation have already been taken care of.The 3.4-liter flat-six carried the 996 Carrera from 1999 through 2001 before the 3.6 arrived, rated at 296 horsepower from the factory. On this car, the IMS bearing and rear main seal have both been replaced, which resolves the first two questions many informed 996 buyers ask. Intake airflow has been opened up with a 911 GT3 throttle body feeding an IPD competition plenum, a well-established combination on the M96 that increases both throttle body diameter and plenum volume over the factory pieces. A Fabspeed exhaust handles the other end of the system. Power reaches the rear wheels through the ZF-built five-speed Tiptronic S, which allows manual gear selection through the steering wheel controls.Inside, the factory option list includes heated seats on both sides, power comfort seats front and rear passenger, a leather sport steering wheel with integrated Tiptronic controls, and an extended run of Porsche Exclusive program codes covering leather-wrapped interior trim, indicating the car was ordered with more than the standard cabin treatment. Audio has been brought current with a Bluetooth-enabled touchscreen head unit, a full set of replacement speakers in the factory locations, and a Kicker enclosed subwoofer mounted in the rear seat area. The power soft top operates as designed. The 996 represented the largest single change in the 911's history, moving the car to water cooling, a new platform, and a completely redesigned interior. Early cars in this generation have historically been discounted against their air-cooled predecessors, and the IMS bearing is the reason why. An example that has had that work performed, along with the rear main seal, sits in a different position than one that has not. At 52,000 miles, with the intake and exhaust already sorted and the interior updated for modern use, this Cabriolet is a usable entry point into 911 ownership.NFI Empire specializes in classic, exotic, modified, and luxury vehicles. Summary
The source listing offers a VIN-specific CARFAX report for purchase.
The goal is to ingest this directly from the dealer listing or linked report over time, then turn it into a buyer-facing service readout. A clean report still does not replace specialist invoices.
