Buyer-facing read on this listing

Hardly any other model embodies the connection between racing and the road as much as the BMW M3 from the E30 series. From the first series M3 to the Evolution models and finally the Sport Evolution, each step in the development process was a consistent refinement – further proof of BMW's uncompromising motorsport DNA. The original M3 already set standards, the Evolution I laid the foundation for further performance enhancements, and the Evo II brought additional performance and aerodynamics. The M3 Sport Evolution finally marked the pinnacle of the series in 1990.Built exclusively in that year and strictly limited to just 600 units, the Sport Evolution represents the most technically uncompromising and at the same time most exclusive version of the E30 M3. Developed with a clear focus on motorsport, it combines racing technology with road approval. The four-cylinder engine, enlarged to 2.5 liters, delivers 238 hp and was supplemented by special engine controls, a revised cooling system, and numerous motorsport details. Adjustable front and rear spoilers, lighter components, and further refined tuning made the Sport Evolution the most powerful E30 M3 of its time. The model was available ex-factory in only two colors: Brilliant Red or Gloss Black. The vehicle offered here is presented in classic Brilliant Red, one of the iconic colors of this model. An expert opinion from 2015 documents a mileage of 129,000 km prior to restoration, thus confirming the condition and history of the vehicle at that time.In 2025, the car was completely restored by the renowned company MS Fahrzeugtechnik in Castrop-Rauxel. The company is considered a proven specialist for BMW E30s and, in particular, for M3 models. With the highest standards of quality, originality, and attention to detail, the Sport Evolution was completely dismantled and rebuilt to new car condition. The engine was completely overhauled, and all technical components—including the drive, chassis, brakes, electrical system, and auxiliary units—were comprehensively revised or replaced. The bodywork and interior were also refurbished with the utmost care and attention to originality. Every detail was checked, repaired or, where necessary, replaced with correct parts. The result is a vehicle that today presents itself in a condition, both visually and technically, that corresponds to the delivery condition of a new car.Since the restoration was completed, the car has been driven very carefully and is still practically in its running-in phase. The entire restoration has been comprehensively documented and is supported by numerous documents and photographic material. This is an exceptionally high-quality BMW M3 E30 Sport Evolution: rare, fully restored, excellently documented, and in a condition that meets even the highest collector's standards. A vehicle for connoisseurs and enthusiasts who are looking for the ultimate E30 M3 in the best possible condition. You can find more cars and information on our homepage. www.cog-classics.com. This ask is running about $197,600 over the comparable average, so spec, provenance, and presentation need to justify the premium.

Photo coverage is still thin at 1 image, so presentation quality is harder to judge without opening the source listing.

Documentation still reads thin here, so this is the kind of listing where invoice detail and specialist history should drive the next round of diligence.
