2005 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet ''With my 911 S, I now understand why guys who can afford to spend $30,000 more than the cost of a Corvette for roughly the same performance do so,'' said one former C5 Corvette owner. ''Rides at speeds that are white knuckle affairs in the Corvette are casual, one hand on the wheel events in the 911.'' Autoweek, June 2006For consignment, a 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera S cabriolet showing 51,863 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a WV title odometer non-disclosure. This star of Stuttgart retains its youthful and athletic appearance, a healthy 21 year old that's been ceramic coated and wears PPF film on the entire front end. It also comes with a detailed oil analysis report from 2023. Exterior Specs amongst 911 owners are a big deal and some would argue that the choice here is one of the most favored, Black paint mated with a black canvas top and 19-inch Niche wheels, here with ZR rated tires with an early 2025 date code. Red calipers peek through the spokes along with sporty, drilled rotors. The Porsche coat of arms is planted firmly on the aerodynamic nose of this 911 between headlights that bow to the wind and hover over clear lensed and flush marker lights that present like Swarovski crystal. But it might be the rear that steals the spotlight with flush tail lights hugging the wide body, the louvered wing in its poised position, and the quad exhaust tips with slightly offset sizes that all make for a fantastic profile. Imperfections include various minor chips, general inclusions in the paint, several circular marks on the canvas top along with other marks, some flaws in the PPF behind the wheel, light rock spray, scratches and scrapes on the chin piece.Interior The dark exterior is contrasted by the Cashmere interior that begins on the well designed and attractive door panels that combine plastic, leather, and a carpeted insert with the contoured nickel door handle and black switchgear and both present cleanly. Porsche's distinctive buckets seats are up front, tall and supple and showing some light usage while the kid's seats in back and adherent seat belts look untouched. Nickel, gray and saddle cover the 3 spoke steering wheel and dashboard with artful aplomb and Porsche's five gauge configuration, here with white faces, should be on everyone's bucket list. Even the clock that's perched on the dashboard is excellent, followed by a center stack with a 5.8'' screen and Porsche Classic AM/FM/CD radio with Hertz amp, Focal speakers and backup camera along with lots of buttons. In the center console resides the perfectly formed shifter in a leather wrapped base over saddle carpet and plush mats, all clean and ready for its next steward. The front trunk also presents cleanly.Drivetrain In back, you'll find a clean bay housing the 3.8 liter flat 6 cylinder engine, water cooled and fuel injected and putting out 355 horsepower. It's mated to a 5-speed automatic transaxle keeping power to the back wheels through 3.55 gears.Undercarriage The front two thirds is covered by aerodynamic belly pans while in back, typical oxidation is noted on the engine and components but no red flags here. The dual exhaust travels a short distance through original equipment mufflers and those staggered chrome tips. Naturally, power disc brakes are on all four wheels and the fully independent suspension includes Macpherson struts in front and a multilink with coil springs out back.Drive-Ability As they say, there is no substitute and we won't be drawing any straws. Only one person gets the lucky assignment and runs the car out on a short lap around the test loop where, as we'd expect, it does everything well. Handling, tracking, braking. It's all there in spades. All functions operate as they should and we bring the best of the best back to the showroom for display. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Remember Porsche designed Carrera sunglasses from the 80's? While they may have gone out of style a long time ago, a 911 of any vintage will forever be in vogue. In fact, the older they get, the more desirable they become. Some say 911's have gotten too big of late, but the 997 is the Goldilocks of 911's, it's just right in every way.Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (that's more than 8 acres!).The largest single location consignment dealer of classic and collectible vehicles in the country is located in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, just 1-hour west of Philadelphia off Exit 298 of the I-76 Pennsylvania Turnpike. For more information visit www.classicautomall.com or call us at (888) 227-0914. The source listing offers a VIN-specific CARFAX report for purchase.
The goal is to ingest this directly from the dealer listing or linked report over time, then turn it into a buyer-facing service readout. A clean report still does not replace specialist invoices.
